Here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions and the information you may find useful. If you have any other questions, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
How many people are on each class?
We have a maximum of 10 people on our classes to ensure that everyone has space and can join in with the cooking. We like to have a minimum of 8 people on each class, if fewer bookings are received then we reserve the right to reschedule the class.
Simply select the class you want to go on along with the date you wish to attend and follow the payment link to our secure payment system; we accept all credit and debit cards, including Amex, if you have any issues or queries, please contact us for more information so that we can help you further.
What time do we start on the day?
We ask everyone to arrive by 08:45 to enjoy a nice bacon butty, before we get down to cooking.
What should I wear?
The classes at our BBQ School are based mainly outdoors, so please dress comfortably and according to the weather – there is shelter if it rains! Aprons will be supplied, (you can buy your apron at the end of the class if you wish). Please wear sensible closed toe footwear (no flip-flops or sandals please).
What do I need to bring with me?
We will supply pretty much everything you should need, including recipe notes on the workshop for you to take home. A large sealable container and cool bag are useful to take leftover food home with you. (There is always plenty of food to take home).
What if I have to change my booking date?
We’re a pretty understanding bunch, but booking changes cost us money, especially the short notice ones, (we have to order all of the meats a week in advance and can rarely re-book the places) so we have had to implement the following rebooking fees …
- Changing the date of your class with more than 2 weeks notice – free
- Changing the date of your class with less than 2 weeks notice – £30
If you don’t attend on the day without prior notice, you will not be able to rebook or get a refund. In all date change cases, you can transfer your booking to another person with no charge.
Bookings, Gift Certificates and Vouchers are not refundable. Vouchers must be booked before their expiry date or will be forfeit, (they are valid for one year).
What if BBQ Workshop has to change the booking?
Whilst every effort is made to hold classes on the designated date, sometimes things happen, such as the odd Pandemic or serious storm! In the rare event that we have to cancel a class you will be advised as soon as possible and offered an alternative date or a voucher to rebook the class at your leisure.
What if I have allergies or specific food requirements?
Please email us before booking and we can advise you if this will be an issue. We do try to accommodate everyone on our workshops, but in some cases there may be foods that you won’t be able to taste.
Where is the BBQ School?
The classes are held in our purpose built outdoor kitchen and barbecue area, at our home in the village of Bethersden, near Ashford in Kent. We have a couple of very friendly dogs on-site, they will be kept away from food preparation areas, however they might come and say hello during breaks. There is parking available on-site.
What happens to the food we cook during the Workshop?
Everyone eats the food cooked together at the end of each Workshop. All the leftover food (and there is always leftover food ☺️) is shared out between everyone so they can take some home, please bring some large sealable containers and in warmer weather a cool bag to keep it cool.
