Whether you’ve been barbecuing for years or are new to this wonderful outdoor way of cooking, the BBQ School Backyard BBQ Workshop will help you take your barbeque skills to the next level. This workshop is a hands-on experience aimed to improve your techniques and to learn new ways of utilising your barbeque at home to become the envy of your friends and neighbours.
During the Backyard BBQ Workshop we will cover how to choose the best barbeque to suit your needs; the best fuel to use, how to use it and safe lighting methods; how to control the temperature using vents and airflow; direct versus indirect cooking; the addition of wood for smoking; how to use rubs, sauces and marinades; food hygiene and safe practices when cooking with fire.
We will prepare and cook a variety of dishes during the workshop including ribs, chicken, other meats, vegetables and sweet dishes. We want to make your experience as interactive as possible, so if you have any food allergies or intolerances please notify us before the workshop, we really don’t want to make you ill!
The Workshop will run from 10am until 3pm and costs £85 per person including refreshments.
No prior barbecue or cooking skills are required. Please note this class will involve some knife work.
